What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha classes denote teaching that incorporates different lineages or styles of instruction, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Flow, Anusara, meditation, and others. Drawn from a vast system of spiritual practices that provides tools for inner growth, hatha yoga is primarily comprised of three of the eight limbs of classical yoga. Integrating the use of physical postures (asanas), attention to and control of the energy and patterns of the breath (pranayama) and deep internal mental focus and concentration (dharana), it teaches us how to understand the different aspects of our true nature, and how to harmonize and balance these with the greater universe within and surrounding us.
